About Tim

The short version

I'm Tim Deal. I run Deal House LLC, where I broker hard money and DSCR loans for real estate investors through 316 Capital. I'm also a reentry advocate, a speaker, and an author — and I believe the same communities that get locked out of wealth deserve the tools to build it.

How I got here

I was incarcerated for nearly twenty years, starting at age 17. I came home in 2021 and rebuilt my life from nothing — through work, education, and service.

Before going independent, I spent four and a half years as a loan processor, working more than 175 loans worth over $170 million. I learned exactly how deals get done, where they fall apart, and what borrowers actually need to hear. That's what I give people now: straight answers, real numbers, and terms you can verify yourself.

The work beyond lending

Lending is my business. But my life's work is bigger than that:

• Reentry advocacy — I've facilitated reentry programming with the Transformational Prison Project and testified at the Massachusetts State House for juvenile justice reform.
• Board service — I serve on the boards of the Youthful Offender Coalition and The Blackbury Organization.
• Speaking — I've spoken at Harvard, Boston University, and Suffolk University on reentry, reform, and rebuilding.
• Writing — I'm the author of a forthcoming book on generational wealth for our communities (read more).

What I believe
